DALTON AFFORDABLE HOUSING REHABILITATION
community architecture — affordable housing — pacific northwest design
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
The Dalton Building, originally constructed in 1907, is a three-story mixed-use building in the heart of Seattle's Columbia City Historic District. It is owned by Pioneer Human Services (PHS), which uses the upper floors to provide transitional housing for individuals reintegrating into society after incarceration. Many aspects of this masonry structure are deteriorating; the window replacement program is the first step in a phased rehabilitation of the building.
CAST worked with PHS to identify a historic reproduction window and installation method that would both meet Washington State Energy Code and gain approval from the Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board. Currently under construction.
