THE BLOCK PROJECT
COMMUNITY ARCHITECTURE — TRANSITIONAL HOUSING — PACIFIC NORTHWEST DESIGN
SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
CAST is partnering pro bono with the BLOCK Project to build small, fully equipped, healthy homes for people experiencing homelessness, that fit in the most backyards. This model gives residents a place to call home and our communities an opportunity to make a real difference in supporting our unhoused neighbors and addressing the issue of homelessness together.
Although CAST did not participate in the original design, our work includes meeting with the homeowners, site planning, and permitting. In 2022, CAST submitted permits for three BLOCK Homes. In 2023 CAST volunteered to build homes as well.
The BLOCK Project mission: To inspire deliberate relationship building and community engagement as a pathway to ending homelessness.
